What are recommended readings for an undergraduate humanities student?

You may be interested in a "Great Books" curriculum, where studies are built around readings from ~100 Great Books of the Western Intellectual Tradition. There are perhaps two dozen colleges wholly or in part teaching the Great Book Curriculum. Perhaps St John's College, of Maryland and New Mexico, may be the most prominent.
